Beginner level workshops - try out a new instrument!

Please pre-register for the workshops by e-mail so we know how many people are planning on attending.

Hammered Dulcimer

Princess Harris:
Yes, you CAN learn how to play the Hammered Dulcimer.  It is easier than it looks and you will come out of this workshop playing at least a couple of tunes.  I know it looks complicated, but I'll show you how easy it is to get started and it truly will make sense at the end of the session!  I promise!


Mountain Dulcimer

Dana Hamilton
Beginner Mountain Dulcimer  Big string on the outside... basic strum patterns, basic melodies, how to find basic melodies, beginning chords, Ionian or Mixed-uplidian, tuning, changing strings, everything you wanted to know about playing the Mountain Dulcimer.    


Fiddle

Carl Cook
Jam Band Basics  - How to function  in a jam session as a fiddle player, whether playing the lead or playing backup.


Harp

Emily Wyatt:
Emily will be teaching the basics of the lap harp.  She will bring 5 harps to loan out.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about this beautiful instrument.


Banjo

Chris Foss:  
Chris will be teaching the basics of the Banjo, and will have several banjos there to try out.  Chris and his wife Melanie are also vending as "Round the Bend" music store - try out a banjo, and take one home!


Guitar

Rich Prezioso:
Rich, of "Small Potatoes" fame will be teaching us how to play
 simple and embellished versions of
"Ashokan Farewell".
